1 INTRODUCTIONThe production of commercially important indole alkaloid from tissue culture of C.roseus hasbeen a major objective of research carried out worldwide[1].Of primary importance has beenthe production of catharanthine and vindoline which can be used as precursor for thesynthesis of commercially important antineoplastic agents,vinblastine and vincristine.
