A method to measure the rice kernel chalkiness objectively

摘要

Rice kernel chalkiness is an important quality character. Being the untransparent portions in grain endosperm, chalkiness is always measured by some subjective eye-judging methods domestically and internationally. Results measured by such methods are subjective, inaccurate, and unstable. This research is intended to establish an intact and efficient chalkiness measuring system that is composed of Chalkiness 1.0 software, a computer, and a scanner or a digital camera.
