[Adaptation Mechanism and Strategy of Ecological Resilience and High-quality Development in the Yellow River Basin].

Achieving ecological protection and high-quality development is the fundamental goal of sustainable development in the Yellow River Basin, and it is also an inevitable choice for the practice of the concept of Chinese-style modernization. It is of great significance to clarify the adaptation mechanism between ecological resilience and high-quality development for the implementation of the strategic development of the Yellow River Basin. Theoretical exploration finds that the development of ecological resilience provides a power source, structural support, and efficiency guarantee for the high-quality economic development of the Yellow River Basin by promoting factor upgrading, industrial optimization, and efficiency improvement. Based on the panel data of 72 prefecture-level cities in the Yellow River Basin from 2005 to 2023, this study constructs an index system to measure the high-quality economic development of the Yellow River Basin and constructs a double fixed-effect model to empirically test the impact and mechanism of ecological resilience development on the high-quality economic development of the Yellow River Basin. The empirical results showed that: ① The development of ecological resilience significantly enhanced the high-quality economic development of the Yellow River Basin, and this conclusion remained valid after a series of robustness tests. ② Ecological resilience provided a power source, structural support, and efficiency guarantee for the high-quality economic development of the Yellow River Basin by promoting the upgrading of factors, industrial optimization, and efficiency improvement. ③ The geographical location and regional resource endowment will affect the role of ecological resilience in improving the high-quality economic development of the Yellow River Basin.
