摘要

Clinical medicine is not merely an empirical science centered on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Instead, it represents a form of practical wisdom that involves value judgments amidst uncertainties, a moral practice that shoulders ethical responsibilities, and an intersubjective caring relationship founded on trust and understanding. Clearly defining and precisely comprehending the characteristics of clinical medicine serves as the cornerstone for a profound understanding of healthcare work and the medical and health service system, facilitating the advancement of the construction of the medical and health system. From a philosophical perspective, clinical medicine exhibits core characteristics such as the particularity of its practical objects, bedside care, high uncertainty, cognitive limitations, epistemic authoritarianism, invasiveness of interventions, conservatism in clinical decision-making, non-repeatability of clinical errors, humanitarian ethics, state welfare orientation, and health promotion.
