FIRE PROTECTION FOR LNG PLANTS
摘要
Fire protection in LNG refining plants and storage areas must start with fire protection design. Pay particular attention to known troublesome areas particularly where and how the piping enters the tank. Good designs here can prevent damaged piping from draining a tank. Use of remote controls can limit leak size. Good design must be followed by correct installation. Another design effort must be made to control the flow of leaking gas into drainage channels and collectors and away from source of ignition. Well-trained people are needed to combat an accidental LNG spill. They should thoroughly understand secondary fire protection which is essentially passive and must be adapted to the particular conditions of an accident.
