摘要

How to improve the ecological resilience of cities and enhance their ability to cope with environmental pressures and sudden ecological disasters is a core issue that the Chinese government needs to solve urgently. Based on the balance panel data of 284 prefecture-level cities and above from 2008 to 2021, this paper empirically explores the impact of digital technology innovation on urban ecological resilience and further clarifies its mechanism and heterogeneity in different urban groups. The results show that: ① There were significant spatial differences in the level of ecological resilience of Chinese cities, which were higher in the eastern coastal areas and lower in the central and western regions. ② Digital technology innovation could significantly improve urban ecological resilience, and this conclusion was still valid after the robustness test such as the placebo test, changing model settings, and excluding environmental policy interference. The spatial Durbin model showed that there was no significant spatial spillover effect in digital technology innovation. ③ The mediating effect model showed that digital technology innovation significantly improved the level of urban ecological resilience by reducing resource dependence and increasing government environmental concern. ④ The results of heterogeneity analysis showed that digital technology innovation had a more significant impact on the ecological resilience of non-resource-based cities, ecologically fragile areas, central and western regions, and non-environmental protection key cities.
