[Spatio-temporal Characteristics and Influencing Factors of the Coordinated Treatment Cost of Pollution Reduction and Carbon Reduction in China].

The synergistic cost of pollution reduction and carbon reduction is the key to realizing the "soft landing" of the social and economic system, playing an important role in the relationship between environmental quality and economic growth. The SBM dual model was used to measure the marginal pollution reduction cost (MACP) and marginal carbon reduction cost (MACC) in 30 provinces in 2007-2022. Using the system coordination model, spatial autocorrelation, standard deviation ellipse, and spatio-temporal geographical weighted regression model (GTWR), we analyzed the evolution characteristics of the reduction and the spatio-temporal heterogeneity of influencing factors. The results showed that: ① During the research period, MACC in China was greater than MACP. Overall, the synergistic relationship between the two showed a trend of "rapid rise-steady rise, " and the synergy type evolved from near synergy to barely synergy. ② Spatio-temporal analysis showed a pattern of decreasing differentiation from the eastern, southern, and northern coastal regions to the central and western regions, with significant positive spatial correlation. However, it showed the agglomeration characteristics of unbalanced development in local space, and the center of gravity continued to migrate from the northwest to southwest, showing the characteristics of "westward and eastward." ③ In terms of driving factors, carbon intensity (LNCI), air pollutant emission intensity (LNPI), and green technology innovation (LNGTI) were the key influencing factors, while environmental regulation (LNEG), industrial structure rationalization index (LNIS), and low carbonization index of energy consumption structure (LNENER) also had a significant influence as the primary influencing factors.
