Immune response to hepatitis B vaccine among patients onhemodialysis
摘要
Infection with hepatitis B virus (HBV) poses a majorhealth threat worldwide, where the magnitude andoverburden of chronic carrier state approaches 150million chronic carriers. The prevalence of HBV isgreater among dialyzed patients compared to thegeneral population owing to their increased vulnerabilityto blood and its products, along with hazards posedby contaminated hemodialysis tools and devices. Anelectronic systematic search of the published literaturewas carried and data on the immunological riposte tohepatitis B vaccination among hemodialysis patientswas extracted from relevant studies. End stage renaldisease patients on hemodialysis have a lower or anabsolutely negative riposte to HBV vaccine. Severalmeans have been tried to improve this response withsome success, nevertheless none have been universallyadopted. Genetic investigations are foreseen to make abreak through concerning HBV vaccination.
