Vitrectomy for Diabetic Vitreous Hemorrhage
摘要
The results and complications of pars plana vitrectomy for diabetic vitreous hemorrhage were studied in 70 eyes for 65 patients. There were 26 male and 39 female patients, and age distribution ranged from 42 to 76 years (mean 60.5 years of age). The duration of the vitreous hemorrhage was 6 or more morths in 46 eyes (65.7%), and averaged 9.9 months. Preoperative visual acuity was less than 5/200 in 63 eyes (90%). Best postoperative visual acuity was 5/200 or better in 51 eyes (72.9%), and vision improved two or more lines after vitrectomy in 47 eyes (67.1%). The most common postoperative complication was postoperative vitreous hemorrhage in 24 eyes (34.3%). Follow-up was at least 6 months (mean 19.7 months). Six diabetic prognostic parameters including duration of diabetic history, duration of vitreous hemorrhage, preoperative panretinal photocoagulation, hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, diabetic classification were evaluated furtherly. Only the effect of preoperative panretinal photocoagulation on the visual outcome of vitrectomy showed statistical significance.
