The meta-analysis of vaccine effectiveness of Lanzhou lamb rotavirus vaccine

Objective To evaluate the vaccine effectiveness (VE) of Lanzhou lamb rotavirus vaccine (LLR) used in China.Methods Literature on the VE of LLR was retrieved by searching electronic databases (PubMed,Cochrane Library,CNKI,SinoMed,and Wanfang Database et al).The heterogeneity chi-squared of literature was calculated by Meta-analysis,then the combined RR and 95％ CI were calculated by fixed effect model (P ＞0.1) or random effect model (P≤0.1).VE was calculated by [(1-RR) ×100％].Results A total of 10 studies were included,and all were cohort study.The VE of LLR against rotavirus gastroenteritis (RVGE) was 72％ (95％ CI:63％-79％) ; The VE of LLR against severe rotavirus gastroenteritis (RVGE) was 70％ (95％ CI:40％-85％).Conclusions LLR can provide good protection against rotavirus gastroenteritis,and reduce the morbidity of severe gastroenteritis cases.
