Adult thyroid gland content and related factors

Objective To discover some stable factors which were related to the content of thyroid in adults with B-ultrasound.Methods Based on the effective data reported in my first paper of 499 cases,the analysis for factors of city/county and chronic disease histories was processed after the stratification with sex and age.The effect of multiple factors on the thyroid content was evaluated with the method of classification analysis.Results The thyroid content of man is bigger than that of female;the thyroid content of high age group is bigger than that of a low age group;no differences are observed between thyroid content in groups of cases no matter they are living in city or countryside and they had have or have not chronic diseases histories.Conclusions The factors affected on content of thyroid gland in adults mainly are three sorts of conditions namely sex,age and thyroid diseases and in which the causes and/or pathogenesis are not clearly understood yet.
