CBERS-02B 数据在霍山山前活动断裂带1:5 万填图中的应用

This paper assesses the application of remote sensing interpretations based on China-Brazil Earth Resource Satellite (CBERS)-02B CCD and HR images in active fault quantitative research, using a case study of the Mt. Huoshan piedmont active fault zones, Shanxi Province. We show that the active fault has a northeast-trending length of more than 116km and can be divided into six segments based on the structure of its geometry, and that vertical movement has occurred during the Holocene along all segments. We discuss the uses of CBERS-02B images for quantitatively establishing fault and segment length and locations, for collecting information on tectonic geomorphology such as fault scarps and faulting valleys along the fault zone and for selecting sites for detailed fieldwork. We conclude that CBERS-02B images and follow-up serial ones can be effectively used in active faults mapping (1:50000 scale) and related quantitative research.
