Local Chern classes, multiplicities, and perfect complexes
摘要
We define an invariant associated to a homomorphism of free modules and show, first, that this generalizes the multiplicity in the sense of Samuel and, second, that in the situation we are considering, the local Chern character of a perfect complex can be defined in terms of this invariant. Some questions are raised as to the positivity of these numbers and connections with mixed multiplicities are described.
