摘要

George Lakoff and Mark Johnson published the book Metaphors We Live By according to the University of Chicago Press in 1980.Since their opinions about metaphors are quite different from traditional ones,the book Metaphors We Live By has be of concern for a long time.There are many heated discussions about that book among not only domestic scholars but also foreign linguistic experts.Therefore,in order to have a better understanding of the book Metaphors We Live Byand Lakoff and Johnson’s opinions of metaphors,there is a need for us to conduct a brief review of the book Metaphors We Live By.
