MINIMAL IMMERSIONS OF RANK 1 COMPACT SYMMETRIC SPACES INTO SPHERES

摘要

In [3], M. doCarmo and N. Wallach gave a negative answer to the rigidity conjecture for minimal immersions of spheres into spheres given by S. S. Chern and the rigidity conjecture for minimal immersions of rank 1 compact symmetric spaces into spheres given by themselves. They gave a nice description of all minimal immersions of spheres into spheres in [3]. This paper extends their results to all rank 1 compact symmetric spaces.
