Evaluation of Tourism Climate Comfortableness in Shaanxi Province

The comfortable degree of climate is very important to the development of tourism and it is also a major factor which affect duration of tourism season.Based on 30-year climatic data in Shaanxi Province,the climate comfortable degree of each month in Shaanxi Province is analyzed by the way of the THI,WCI,ICL as well as the comprehensive comfort index.The three comfort indexes are quantified in order to calculate them,and we stipulate that the climate is comfortable when Z(the sum of THI,WCI,ICL)≥6,the climate is fairly comfortable when 3Z6,the climate is relatively uncomfortable when 0Z≤3,the climate is uncomfortable when Z≤0.The results show that,in Northern part of Shaanxi,the climate is comfortable from May to September,and climate in January,February and December is uncomfortable.In Guanzhong area,the climate in April,May,September and October is comfortable,and climate in January,February is uncomfortable.Climate in April,May,September and October is comfortable in Hanzhong and Ankang,there is no uncomfortable climate in Hanzhong and Ankang.In Shangluo,climate in April,May,August and September is comfortable,and uncomfortable in January.The comfortable climate in Yulin,Yanan,Tongchuan,Xianyang and Shangluo lasts for five months,which is the longest in Shaanxi.The comfortable climate in Huayin lasts for a very short time,only three months.The uncomfortable climate in Yulin lasts for four months,which is the longest in Shaanxi.There is no uncomfortable climate in Hanzhong and Ankang.In winter the climate is uncomfortable in most areas in Shaanxi,besides Yulin,Yanan,Tongchuan and Shangluo.The climate in spring and autumn is the most comfortable in a year.The differences of geographical location and the sea level lead to the different comfortable index of each area in Shaanxi Province,especially obvious in the direction of North to South in winter.The annual sum of the index of Ankang is the highest,and the annual sum of the index of Yulin is the lowest.Climate com
