ON CERTAIN CLASSES OF MAXIMAL SUBGROUPS IN PS_p(2n,F)
摘要
All maximal subgroups of PS_P(2n, F) (n≥22) which eontain T-subgroaps are determined,where T-subgroup is meant the sabgroup, formed by all symplectic transvections in a certain direc-tion. When F≠F_2, all possible types of those maximal subgroups are: the stabilizer of a totallyisotropic subspace of the underlying space V, the stabilizer of a non-singular subspace with dimen-sion less than n, and the stabilizer of a decomposition of V into some mutually orthogonal subspacesof the same dimension. The cuse F = F_2 will be treated in another paper.
