A new synthetic immunomodulator——pidotimod
摘要
Pidotimod is a new synthetic immune modulator. It can stimulate both the innate and acquired immune response to virus and bacteria. It is indicated to treat and prevent the childhood recurrent upper respiratory and urinary tract infection, acute episode of chronic bronchitis in elder people and infections in cancer patients. Compared with traditional immune modulator, pidotimod is safe, convenient to use and well tolerated. This paper reviews the immunoregulatory activity, pharmacodynamics, pharmacotherapy,and clinical safety of the thymic-derived drug pidotimod.
