Analysis of influence factors of ice slurry in storage

Ice slurry is a good coolant in cold storage and transportation,it has widely application prospects.Ice crystals revolution in the process of storage impact the thermodynamics and heat transfer closely.The population balance model was applied in this paper to research the influence of the addition′s type and concentration,consumption rate,ice rate on ice slurry in the storage.Results have shown that ice crystasl are growing during the storage,but it can be suppressed by adding additives.The type and concentration of the additives are the main factors to impact the growth of ice crystals.Attrition rate and ice percent factor have little effect on the growth of ice crystals.The three kinds additives are ranked according to their effect on suppressing the growth of the ice crystal,and the result is Tween 80,ethylene glycol and sodium chloride.
