Long-Term Remission of Advanced Esthesioneuroblastoma after Chemoradiotherapy

Esthesioneuroblastoma (ENB) is a rare malignant tumor and the optimal treatment is controversial at present. Surgery followed by radiotherapy is favored in most articles in the literature, but this might be difficult in advanced diseases. The efficacy and safety of primary concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) are not clear for ENB. We report a 25-year-old woman with advanced ENB, which completely disappeared following CCRT, with no relapse during her thirteen-year follow-up. Delayed radiotherapy-related neurological complications developed, however, more than ten years later. The present case suggests consideration of non-surgical management for advanced ENB.
