Use of LNG in Heavy-Duty Vehicles
摘要
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Natural gas in liquid form is 600 times denser than the vapour form, making liquid natural gas (LNG) an economical fuel to store and transport over long distances. This paper compares the onboard storage characteristics of compressed natural gas (CNG) and LNG and concludes that for heavy-duty vehicles LNG is the appropriate alternative fuel.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">The paper reviews the status of LNG fuel systems and diesel conversion technologies. Current LNG fuel system costs are presented. Paper concludes that LNG can play an important role in the 1990'sas an alternative transportation fuel for heavy-duty vehicles.</div>
