生物科技的風險、利益與信任:高中學生「生物科技覺知量表」的發展研究
摘要
This research developed a tool for investigating high school students' perception of biotechnology. Based on the review of literature, four dimensions-"Perception of Biotechnology," "Risk Perceptions," "Risk Management and Communication (Trust)" and "Benefit and Legitimacy" were constructed for developing a primitive scale with 34 items. After 450 high school students provided valid responses, the data were then structured and evaluated by explanatory factor analysis. Through three sequential steps, the final version of the scale featured items separated into six categories-knowledge, relevance, importance, benefit, trust, and risk. The total number of items was reduced to 24. The whole scale can explain the variance of 65.414%. In addition, relevant factors were used to compare perception levels. This research developed one possible tool for future research purposes. The differences in gender, major, preference to thinking, preference to observation and thinking, self-reported level of science/technology knowledge, and the source of scientific knowledge were analyzed. Based on the findings, this study also provides suggestions for educators and researchers in the relevant fields.
