Vitrectomy for Nondiabetic Vitreous Hemorrhage
摘要
The results and complications of pars plana vitrectomy for nondiabetic vitreous hemorrhage were studied in 64 eyes of 60 patients. Etiologies included trauma with intraocular foreign body (14 eyes), trauma without intraocular foreign body (15 eyes), idiopathic cases (15 eyes), retinal vein thrombosis (8 eyes), retinal tears with retinal detachment (5 eyes), vitreous hemorrhage during anterior segment surgery (3 eyes), vasculitis (2 eyes), Eales' disease (one eye), age-related macular degeneration (one eye). The duration of the vitreous hemorrhage was 6 months or more in 18 eyes (28.1%), and averaged 10.3 months, Preoperative best corrected visual acuity was less than 5/200 in 52 eyes (81.3%). Postoperative best corrected visual acuity was 5/200 or better in 37 eyes (57.8%) and vision improved two or more lines after vitrectomy in 45 eyes (70.3%). The major complications included increase of intraocular pressure (20 eyes), late retinal detachment (20 eyes), postoperative vitreous hemorrhage (15 eyes), recurrent vitreous hemorrhage (3 eyes), progressive lens opacity (14 eyes), phthisis bulbi (7 eyes), rubeosis iridis (3 eyes), iatrogenic retinal tears (3 eyes), endophthalmitis (3 eyes), and cystoid macular edema (2 eyes). Follow-up was 6-33 months (mean 15.5 months)
