學童“識字量評估測驗”之編製報告

This study was to develop the assessment of Chinese character lists to estimate the number of Chinese characters of school students know from G1 to G9. Character lists were made of two forms for different grades: The A12 form for G1 and G2 students and the other (A39) for the rest of the grades. The targeted characters were randomly selected out of a 5,021 high-frequency character set by the MOE and divided into 17 levels. Students were asked to write down the pronunciations and the meanings of sampled characters. The reliabilities of the character lists, no matter test-retest, split-half, coefficient alpha, were all over .80. The construct validity showed a developmental trend of character size among different grades, that is, the older students know more characters than the younger ones. The concurrent validities between character lists and reading comprehension in each grade were from .54 to .66. The local norm is made by 2842 students who are selected from 10 elementary schools and 10 junior high schools of northern, middle, and southern Taiwan.
