Law Librarianship: A Unique Vocation
摘要
The work of a reference law librarian is unique compared to public, academic and special librarianship. The core competencies are the same across all types of librarianship, but the law librarian's specialized education is not available in many library schools. A law degree is sometimes required for entry level work. Many sources of information, both print and online, are found only in law libraries. The reference interview and especially the legal research process are unlike the other types of libraries due to the nature of law and the way legal information is organized.
