Refrigeration turbocompressors for base-load LNG plants
摘要
From twenty-seventh ASME Petroleum Division conference; New Orleans, LA (1972). Various mixed refrigerant liquefaction cycles are compared from the refrigerant compressor manufacturer's view point, highlighting the significant considerations applicable in matching machinery and cycles. The compressor technology for high power liquefaction loops is evaluated, concluding that 300 MW modules could be built with the machinery available. Criteria currently applied to rotor dynamics and shaft vibration levels are critically examined. The danger of blade vibration is discussed and the relative merits of solid and gear-type shaft couplings are compared. A few operational considerations conclude the paper. (auth)
