A Review of the Obama Administration＇ s Taiwan Policy

摘要

In essence, the Obama administration’s Taiwan policy is still a dual policy, namely to establish both a cooperative partnership with China and to seek to strengthen its relations with Taiwan. As the U.S. and China still lack mutual trust, Washington often considers Taiwan as a tool that can be used to contain China. Thus it looks quite impossible that the U.S. would abandon Taiwan in the future.
