摘要
Hua Zhi Si, a collection of novel, is the masterpiece of Ling Shuhua. The paper reveals two remarkable artistic characteristics of Hua Zhi Si-metaphoric images and plain narration, and thus draws a conclusion: the created images demonstrated the intentional metaphors; the sadness and depression reflected from the contexts and atmosphere in the book show, through plain narration, the self-exile of the characters strengthened the characters' tragedy. Ling Shuhua, in her plain narration and pre-designed images, has her characters in the book realize heir self-exile of their choice.
