摘要

Objective To investigate the serum level and its clinical significance of soluble E-selectin and cell adhesion molecule-1 in patients with colorectal cancer. Methods The serum levels of soluble E-selectin and cell adhesion molecule-l in 220 patients with colorectal cancer were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results were compared with those in 200 healthy controls. In patients with colorectal cancer, the levels of soluble E-selectin and cell adhesion molecule-1 before and after operation were compared as well. Results The levels of soluble E-selectin and cell adhesion molecule-1 in patients with colorectal cancer were significantly higher than those in healthy controls (P<0.05). The levels of soluble E-selectin and cell adhesion molecule-1 at two weeks after operation were significantly lower than those before operation in patients with colorectal cancer (P<0.05). With the progress of clinical stages, the levels of soluble E-selectin and cell adhesion molecule-1 significantly increased, and the levels were related to lymph node metastasis and Dukes stage (P<0.05). However, soluble E-slectin and cell adhesion molecule-1 had no significant correlation with age, sex and tumor location. Conclusions The serum level of soluble E-selectin and cell adhesion molecule-1 reflects the invasion and metastasis process in patients with colorectal cancer. It can be an important indicator to predict the development and prognosis of colorectal cancer.
