衡阳市三县（区市）暗娼、吸毒人群规模估计与艾滋病知识、行为调查研究

Objective To obtain the information on the relative risk of HIV infection among female sex workers and drug users in Shigu District, Hengnan County, and Leiyang County. Methods Multiplier method was used to estimate the number of female sex workers and a capture-recapture method was used to estimate the number of drug users. Every person was asked to finish a questionnaire involved in AIDS knowledge and risk behaviors. 360 female sex workers and 360 drug users were the study target in each county. The study samples in Shigu District and Hengnan County were all finished except Leiyang County only involved 322 female sex workers and 360 drug users. Results The estimated numbers of female sex workers in Shigu District, Hengnan County, and Leiyang County were 660, 529, and 322, respectively. The estimated numbers of drug users in Shigu District, Hengnan County, and Leiyang County were 1, 408, 510, and 1, 852, respectively. The awareness rate of AIDS knowledge was higher, but the rate of condom use during the last sex among the female sex workers was 48.7% and the rate of sharing needle in the last 6 months among the drug users was 97.0%. It was indicated that the knowledge level and risk behavior was independent. The prevention and intervention service was limited to these two groups. Conclusions The risk of AIDS epidemic exists highly in Shigu District, Hengnan County, and Leiyang County. The local policy development should more consider the epidemic risk.
