Caveolae/caveolin-1与细胞胆固醇转运
摘要
Caveolae are vesicular invaginations in the plasma membrane, caveolin-1 is the marker protein of caveolae. Recently, much attention has been paid to the functions of caveolae/caveolin-1. Studies show that the disorders of cellular cholesterol homeostasis participate in the development of atherosclerosis. Meanwhile, caveolar/caveolin-1 play a critical role in the regulation of cellular cholesterol transport and homeostasis, cell proliferation and migration, signal transduction and tumor suppression and so on. In this review, we provide an in-depth summary regarding the research development of caveolae/caveolin-1 and cellular cholesterol transport.
