摘要
Influenced und stimulated by Kant, Herbart tried to solve Kant's problem: ”how man be forced into freedom” in the ”The Aesthetic Revelation of the World” in 1804, his first systematic examination of education: the educator can forcelessly force the children into freedom only by the aesthetic revelation of the world. This idea was further explored in his General Pedagogy, in which the Government, the educational instruction and discipline can be seen as a kind of forceless educational means, showing that he returned to the western tradition-”knowledge is moral”-from the influence of thoughts of aesthetic salvation of his times shown in the ”The Aesthetic Revelation of the World”.
