摘要
The Scarlet Letter is a representative work of American outstanding novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne, and also one of the most prestigious works of the Romantic Period. This novel shaped a debatable protagonist Hester Prynne, a prodigal son or a feminist. This paper intends to make a new interpretation of this character.
